I have a question for anyone using a Stainless Rotary Spray Ball CIP Tank Cleaning Ball for cleaning sanke kegs. How far into the sanke keg have you positioned the cleaning ball? I have one ordered and waiting for shipping from Amazon -- NEW Stainless Rotary Spray Ball Female CIP Tank Cleaning Ball (1/2", SS304) -- Thanks!

I built a pvc stem that reaches 3/4 of the height of the keg which seems to do the trick. I think a lot will have to do with the pump your using.

Here's mine:

I use a 12" SS nipple between the submersible pump and the spray ball (I've since replaced the one piece of brass with SS)

I'm using a 1/3 HP Superior Pump (again bought on Amazon). For now, I jury rigged a PVC piece that goes about 1/2 way up the kegs with a cap. Drilled some holes in the cap and some on the side of the pipe. Fired it up without a keg and got a shower! It throws a lot of water. Set a 5 gal sanke on it, and could "feel" the spray hitting the top (bottom). From what you guys are saying, sounds like I'm on target. Thanks

Would you mind sharing the specifics of your equipment? I've been looking for a rig to clean sanke keg fermenters and the problems I've found on customer reviews are often 1) the pump pressure is too low to spin the ball, or 2) the purchased ball is too big to fit the sanke opening in spite of listed dimensions.

@jangevaa hasn't been on the forum in two years!

I am interested as that looks like a sump pump in that bucket, which gives me ideas because I have an unused pump I used in a chiller, and it would definitely push a ball around.

Ha, didn't look at the dates. The bucket gave me some ideas as well. Anyone out there care to share the specifics of a pump/spray ball system that does a good job of cleaning sankes?
