I was happy with all of the EL Cat beers except GGA, becasue I did not get to try it. I trustee for 3 people, and through my own fault I did not count exactly the correct number of bottles. So I was shorted 1 GGA. Obviously, I had to short myself and send all the GGA out to the members I trustee for. Oh well wont be making that mistake again. EVAR!!!!

Gene - I'll bring mine to Huna Day and we'll pop it somewhere somehow. As if we won't have enough beer to drink otherwise.

I don't get all the hate. I finally opened up 2 bottles (Don Gavino's and Illuminating) and both were great.

I'm actually mad I didn't buy more Don Gavino's.

I thought Illuminating was a tick better, but both were so much better than what I expected reading the complaints.

I think if Don Gavino's had brett added, it would have been even better.

Can't wait to try the rest.

They still have a bunch for sale in the tasting room. Let me know if you want some.

Can anyone tell me if the Lacto Guava has any QC issues? And is it a shelf beer or brewery only for bottles to go?
Tagging for aid DanzBorin franch
Thanks!

As a frequent visitor to CCB I have not been made aware of any QC issues, and both bottled batches thus far have not seen distribution and are brewery exclusive.

only frequent? Don't you sleep on a cot out back of ccb?

And each night, as the lights are turned off and the doors locked, Joey comes around back and gives his favorite squatter a night night kiss. It makes living in a box behind a brewery all worth it.

I'm fairly certain that Drei has an ankle bracelet that notifies the Redners if he sets foot off the premises.

Hi again Florida!
Can someone enlighten me to the typical age of Jai Alai on shelves?
Does it sit at some places for two+ months? I just did a trade and the Jai Alai is older than expected.
It's canned and all, but how does it fall off after two months?

It falls off a lot. I think its still a good beer, but it is definitely much better the fresher it is.

I have seen it two months old on shelves around me in some grocery stores, but that certainly is not the norm. When I want Jai Alai to drink, or especially to send to someone, I get it at the brewery tasting room. I won't buy it to send to someone if its more than two weeks in the can.

Yeah, I even asked the guy to pay attention to dates. If you don't get it at CCB, can you guess the average store shelf-life? Like roll into TW or whatever store and the canned on is within X weeks.

I had a friend get some from the brewery and it ended up being over 2 months old. No bueno.

I've noticed a few things with Jai Alai lately. I never used to see it more than a week old in the tasting room, but recently its hit or miss, sometime its really fresh sometime its 2-3 weeks old. My local bottle shop would get their Jai Alai and it would be anywhere from a few days to a week old, but they would sell out in a couple of days. Sometimes they would order Jai Alai and not get any delivered. Now they always have Jai Alai on the shelf, but sometimes the delevery is already 2-3 weeks old when they get it. Increased production is a double edged sword when it comes to a beer that varies so much with age.

Thanks everyone. Is old IPA grounds for affecting feedback? I did specify to check dates, and asked for ~mid-January or newer as a month old seemed fair for a trade that focuses on sours.
MrVonzipper mhenson42 because you trade a lot.
Hmm. There's people I wouldn't trade with again, but Ive never given bad feedback. I think the key to good trading by far is communication. If everything was clearly laid on the table from both sides and one person didn't follow through with their end. I would state my issues with the trade and give them the option to remedy it first, which would determine the Positive or Negative Feedback.

I think it should be. Someone who sends old IPAs gets no better than neutral. If it's an old IPA as an extra that's more debatable.
