When it stops bubbling you can check with your hydrometer to see if the fermentation is complete.

I have no clue how long to expect with the yeast you are using, never used that yeast. Fermentation times are significantly different with different yeasts.

So i added my yeast on 3 days ago and still bubbling away. How long would this usually take before i bottle it?
When you have a stable SG, and it's clear enough for you. I like clear ciders, so I tend to give things a couple extra weeks.

Patience grasshopper.

My weakness as well. During times I am actively into cider crafting, I want to DO stuff. I'm ready to bottle, to mix another batch, to check pH, to drink some, to check gravity. And really, the best thing to do usually is wait for it to quit bubbling, check gravity, rack it off and walk away while it matures. There are many recipes that allow early bottling. But most of those are not highish ABV. Higher ABV usually requires time to mellow.

I think i'm nearly there as it's stopped bubbling. Introduced the yeast 5 days ago. Definitely much clearer.
What do you mean by 'check gravity'? Should i try some? Also, 'rack it off'? Is that just bottling?

Also...do i have to use a hydrometer?

"Check gravity" means measure specific gravity with a hydrometer. "Racking" is transferring the cider from the primary fermentor to another one to get it off the goo at the bottom (called "lees").

Please read the cider for beginners sticky at the top of the forum.

You need a hydrometer.

No way of knowing anything until you have the ability to test it. Or you can just leave it a couple more weeks and assume it finished.

Reading on how to make cider, in a half hour, answers all this. So it's either keyboard time or reading time. There is a whole language to the art of cider. Best place are the guides.
