Has anyone fermented cider you can buy in the store In the gallon jugs ? If so are there any nutrients or additive you need to make it good? And is us05 ok to use?

I’ve bought a few types from the store with success. Just make sure it’s 100% juice (preferably not from concentrate) with no additives like sorbate, which will prevent fermentation. Being pasteurized is fine, and actually prevents you from having to add campden tabs.

You still need to add yeast nutrient to help the yeast along, as cider does not have the complex sugars most yeasts want in order to thrive. US-05 will work just fine.

I have wyeast beer nutrient blend, that should work right?

I’ve used Musselman’s from Walmart. Not always available but when it is it’s sometimes on sale. Only additive is ascorbic acid.

Kinda boring if you don’t add fruit. But comes out o.k.

Just make sure it doesn't have any preservatives... citric acid is ok. I've found that adding malic acid and a couple of tea bags helps bring out the apple flavor of store bought apple juice.
