Hi,

So my LHBC have set us a brewing task to brew a confectionery based beer.

I really want to do a Chocolate Porter and then flavour it after its done. Possibly hazelnut.

This is only a short batch brew. It's a gallon and a half. Sorry about the KG weights. I'm from the UK.

Will something like what I have attached give me a chocolate tasting beer with good body?

I don't want it too bitter as I plan to hopefully use some Coco nibs in secondary. Which should balance out the sweetness

I haven't brewed one. At a glance nothing seems out of balance. When I create a recipe, I look at successful recipes to get ideas, sometimes combining elements of different ones. I do this in cooking as well. Let us know how it turns out.

Saltaire Triple Chocoholic should probably be your benchmark for this kind of things - as a former SIBA champion and WBA winner it's reasonably available, it was in some supermarkets at one point. See this thread for cloning it and Sam Smith's chocolate stout.
