Looking for a good Session IPA, I want to use 100% Chinook hops. Anyone have a recipe they're willing to share...doesn't have to be you A+ version...B+ is totally acceptable.

Id recommend finding a malt bill you like. I like all day ipa, i think the malt bill is something in the neighborhood of 50-60% pale malt, 20% flaked oats, 10-15% c20, 10% carapils, and maybe some victory thrown in there for good measure. Shoot for 1.045-1.048 OG or thereabouts. Maybe 35-40 IBU.

Here's one based on a recipe that has turned out pretty good for me. I've never done it with Chinook, but should work just fine:

Recipe Type: All Grain
Yeast: Wyeast 1056
Yeast Starter: Yes
Batch Size (Gallons): 6.5
Original Gravity: 1.049
Final Gravity: 1.013
IBU: 39
ABV: 4.75%
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60
Color: 5
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 14 days @ 64, free rise to 68
Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): None

GRAIN BILL:
43.5% 2 Row ( 5 lbs)
43.5% Vienna (5 lbs)
6.5% Carapils (0.75 lb)
4.3% Golden Naked Oats (0.5 lb)
2.2% Honey Malt (0.25 lb)

60 minute mash @ 154

HOPS:
60 Min. = 1 oz Chinook (39IBUs)
30 Minute Whirpool @ 170 = 4oz Chinook

Dry Hop #1- At Day 6-7
3oz Chinook

Dry Hop #2 - Add at Day 10-11
3oz Chinook

Keg on Day 14.

Smash it! Less can be more. 303dans recipe looks quite good but jmitchells with 20%+ crystal would be a mess. No offense.

Try 80% pale or 2row, 15% oats/rye/wheat & a touch of munich/vienna. You wont even need crystal. I love me some chinook & am gearing up for a cascade/chinook duet.

Just realize that smidgen of victory, honey malt, caramunich, munich, etc will lend the biggest difference at only 2% of the recipe.
