Know what would be awesome? Is a query-able database in which we can select hops used in recipes instead of selecting them one by one.

I have a "base" ready for both Pale and IPA, don't know which one I want to brew yet, depends on the hops.

I have:
  • 5oz Cascade
  • 2oz Chinook
  • 2oz Amarillo

I don't need to use it all, I just want a beer bittered with the chinook and flavored with the cascade/amarillo. IBU >60.

Suggestions please?

edit: IF it helps, this is what I Have so far (PM):

Ingredients:
------------
Amount Item Type % or IBU
4.00 lb Light Dry Extract (8.0 SRM) Dry Extract 47.06 %
3.00 lb Pale Malt, Maris Otter (3.0 SRM) Grain 35.29 %
1.00 lb Victory Malt (25.0 SRM) Grain 11.76 %
0.50 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (60.0 SRM) Grain 5.88 %
1.00 oz Chinook [13.00 %] (60 min) Hops 47.8 IBU
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] (15 min) Hops 10.0 IBU
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] (5 min) Hops 4.0 IBU

Fo an IPA i'd do the below hop schedule and add another lb or two of Maris Otter or DME...

1 oz Chinook @ 60 min
1 oz Chinook @ 20 min
1 oz Cascade @ 20 min
1 oz Cascade @ 10 min
1 oz Amarillo @ 10 min
1 oz Cascade @ 0 min
1 oz Amarillo @ 0 min
2 oz Cascade dry hop

Mmmmmmmmm :mug:

Thank you Paul.

Just happens I have more DME. If I take the DME up to 6# it brings the IBU/SG @1.077/96. Sounds tasty!!

Gonna need a starter tho, that a hell of an IPA!!

Sounds great! Let us know how it turns out.

Brewing up an IPA with a friend tomorrow on single tiers side by side. Mmmmm 20 gallons of IPA.
