I have tried searching but don't see any results for chilling beer glasses.

I thought I might have seen a shelf or something in one of the keezers but have not.

Does anyone chill their glasses or is this some cardinal sin?

Unless you're going for the coldest-tasting beer out there (yes, Coors Light, I'm making fun of you), I wouldn't chill your glasses.

Ok i'm the odd man out I always have in the freezer section a tumbler style 12 oz glass. Hands off to anybody, my glass only. The first fill a Black Butte Porter to get the cotton out of the throat, then on with any Imperial Russian Stouts available in the spare fridge. Hey "airdale", 'ex licensed A&P at this end. I have a friend that's a commercial pilot in northern Canada, he gets those white out conditions up there. I say almost a death wish like a "bush pilot".
To fly isn't a problem landing is. Stay safe.

I have no clue what you said in this post, or what language, but it sure sounds purdy :D
Kinda like an Etheridge Knight poem or a Charles Bukowski story. Druken macho stream of conciousness stuff! :mug:

BrewBeemer can I give you a tip? Don't get tanked while responding to posts! LOL

And Planenut if you want to drink beer out of a chilled glass, then do so. Sometimes I like to drink a nice cold beer out of a mug. Normally the heavier beers taste better to me a little on the warmer side, but cold beer is not bad. To each their own.

Brewbeemer : Thanks, I always do my best to fly safe.. Thanks to the A & P's that keep 40,000 lbs in the air..

Dutchk9 : I have always kept a few Pint glasses in the freezer and pour into them when I'm home. I've pretty much been a lager drinker but have wandered into ale territory. I have been enjoying several but especially some Sweetwater 420 out of Atlanta, GA lately. My wife bought me some Sweetwater IPA by mistake and I really started enjoying it once I gave it a chance. I've been on the forum every day for the last month or so and have learned a lot. I have my first batch in the carboy and am ready to get another carboy and start some more. I hope it is going to taste as good as I imagine..

You can bet I'll be trying my next few in a room temperature glass. If it's like the Cigar forum, right or wrong if you are enjoying it, It's all good....

Thanks to everyone on the forum!

Sorry to all that I may have offended in my reply as that was not my intention in any way shape or form. This is my favorite forum and respect everyone on it. Wish I were just "tanked" instead, my reply must of came off not what I intended it to be. The past couple days no bier or alcohol at all as I've stepped up from Vicodin to large amounts of Percocet for this lumbar pain i'm having 24/7. No worries as i'm into a early forced retirement due to this injury. The planes I worked on were 10 times heavier at United. Piston over jet anyday with 1830 2800 Pratt's my favorites. Well 1650 Merlins the best.

I have friends that also like a glass from the freezer only and yes it totally wipes out all the goodness of a Russian Imperial Stout or any bier until a refill after the glass warms up. A sure way to hide a bad brew, serve it super cold. Have done that with still happy friends.
You serve it they will come.
Carl.....=o&o>......

Don't the instructions for Percoset recommend swallowing with copious quantities of beer? :drunk: Hope your back gets better.

I hope you don't think I was offended.. I'm not.. :)

On the cigar forum, generally when one questions lighting, drawing or whatever, a statement is made that as long as you enjoy it, it is ok. That was my point.

No worries.

oh, and hope your back gets better.

Thanks planenut. Tonight could be night number 4 without any sleep days included. Today had more x-rays and was told by the new hip Ortho doctor i'm being jerked around. This is a spinal problem that's getting worse he said. This has gone on for 5 almost 6 years. I'm hoping to get referred to the Daily City Spinal Institute or Stanford Medical both across the S.F. bay from me. Sorry for hijacking this thread i'll go back under my rock and cry. Thanks everyone. I can taste a bier in my mind as I type but not with these meds I want to see a tomorrow.

I have some of my glassware in the freezer and some in the Kitchen, ambient temp. Etiquette aside, it's whatever you want. My taste buds change from day to day and it depends on how hot it is or how hot I am. So experiment!:mug:

I wasn't offended, it was a perfect drucken rumbling....Except it your grammer was too good, even though it went off into tangents.

If you want some pointers on classic drucken postings check out the infamous code monkey thread https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f45/code-enforcement-52640/

Many have tried, but few have matched it in terms of sheer drucken hilarity.

An ice cold BMC in a frosted glass to cut the dust on a hot day, and then go on to the real stuff at the proper temp IMHO. That way, you still get the the refresher for the first drink, but you hav'nt wasted any important beer. In fact, you enjoy the HB even more after the BMC ;)
