Cherry pits, crazy question?

So I want to add some cherries to a beer, but I'm concerned with the pits. I know they can contain small amounts of cyanide or something? I'm not a plant scientist so I'm not sure how that works, but is there any danger is adding the cherries pit and all?

Not dangerous at all. If you age on the pits it adds a nice almond-like flavor, characteristic of traditional kriek.
