Hey everyone. I'm down here in Houston, Tx and want to start brewing soon. I'm gonna try and get as much information as possible too. So any first-timer advice is much appreciated.

Thanks a lot. I was also wondering if I should buy a starter kit, or make my own and buy the ingredients?

Buying a starter kit would probably be the way to go. Chances are you'll get a better deal and you will pretty much be guaranteed to have everything you need right of the bat.

Once you have the equipment you can forumlate your own recipes, borrow someone else's or just buy the pre-made ingredient kits from the suppliers (I've never tried one, but have heard alot of good reviews on certain kits)

Check out one of these online retailers or a local shop.
