Checking SG while racking to secondary

I plan to rack my first batch to secondary tomorrow. I want to check the SG while doing this. Do I need to stir the wort before or during racking to ensure that I get a good reading?

No, you don't want to stir it at all...just take some of the sample from the siphon.
