I have brewed a few decent batches now and keep coming up with the same question, where can I find less expensive un-pasturized juice? And, where do the big players in the market get that juice from?

Try traders Joes, but I highly doubt you will find commercial non Pasturized juice.

I have a fantastic apple wine serving right now - made from the frozen juice at WinCo (Langers brand). I put 16 of the little jugs with water to make 5 gallons.

Thanks all. I know I can grab some juice from the store but I am trying to research what it would take from a commercial standpoint. Are most cider producers getting large swaths of apples or are they partnering with a farmer to use their access unpasturized juice?

Try the orchards that are near you in Oregon. We have many in the Siera-Nevada that sell fresh pressed juice during their harvest festivals. If you are lucky one or more will be UV pasteurizing. You may want to and be able to find it non-pasteurized as well. Check with the orchards and see if they sell to the public in the fall, most do. I have to travel 100 - 150 miles to get to them. I am planning and will be going next fall. To make it feasible I will probably get about 20 gallons. Hopefully some of the others on here near me will either car pool or go in on a large sum of juice to make it cheaper by the gallon.

We found a great apple orchard that also sold cider not far from Staten last fall. There are apple growers all along the Columbia gorge and I'll bet that a trip up around Hood River or Yakima would yield some great contacts as well. From where you're at you could go north, south or east and find some great apple growing areas.
