Now i have been looking for centennial hops over here for a little while now and the one r two company's i have email said they have not seen centennial hops for years! so i thought i know i will order from the US anyway i checked the postage on a home-brew store and it was $85!!! :( So what i am basically asking is does anyone know of anywhere preferably in the UK that stock centennial hops? Or at least doesn't charge $85 for shipping a oz of hops?

+1 - I would email Freshops and see if they can get you a "real" shipping quote. Chances are their online system won't quote right, but in person (by email, rather) they could see what it would actually cost to send something to you (presumedly by DHL for international stuff).

There is a minimum 12 oz order at FresHops, so you might want to stock up on varieties you can't get in the US.

Eighty-five dollars my arse! :drunk:

I get mine from HopandGrape.co.uk , who are excellent. They seem to have some in stock at the moment. It's a great hop, and I'm sure you'll have some great-tasting beer.

Now if anyone can find a place in the UK that sells Simcoe, we'll be set up.

Wow cheers guys, I obviously wasn't looking hard enough. And i am not joking this home-brew store(which will remain unnamed) was going to charge me $85 but i think this was due to their minimum shipping weight being 1.1lb... Once again cheers and i think when i order them up i will make BierMunchers Centennial Blonde. Once again thanks guys!

Hops in the UK are expensive, 3 years ago they were so cheap that a lot of hop growers gave up, grupped out the hop plants and planted something else. Now after poor weather and bad crops and supplying large contract breweries, there is a shortage for us amateurs and the price almost trebled.
