Hoping to get some guidance/feedback here. I've only had a few Casey brews, have enjoyed each one and am interested in trying more. However, I am completely clueless when it comes to what trades for what. Not really looking for whales, and I prefer raspberry and stone fruit profiles vs. cherry (if that helps). I have various things FT like Cantillon/3F/Tilquin, Allagash Coolships, shelf HF and SARA, BA BC/BL/Alesmith/Freemont stouts, etc. Sorry if this isn't the best place for this question (Os delete if so), just want to be able to post an ISO/FT that is fair/realistic. Thanks in advance for any help!

The one thing that sucks for Casey is they tend to be a bit on the high side of price. People will have no problem trading you for what you are listing however. The exceptions on Casey are typically Leaner, Jammy, Supreme Clientele, Raspberry CFP/Cut, which are a bit more limited but still trade just fine.

I'll take a stab at it.

They tend to be all over the board. Fruit Stand cost $20, CFPs cost $30 and Cut cost $36. Some fruits are way more limited then others. For example Raspberry ones have been super limited so are harder to get and require a bit more to pry them out. Others like Peach have several different varieties and are bigger batches so are easier to come by. People sleep on the Grape ones or the Plum but those to me tend to be some of my favorite.

If you're looking for stuff like Leaner, Jammy or a Supreme Clientele those are a little more sought after and tend to take more to get.

You can get a lot of people to trade easily $4$ with the understanding that some bottles on both sides are really sought after and might require going over some. I know that doesn't quite answer your question but without knowing the beers on both sides it's impossible to say if the trade is fair. I have no problem trading $4$. I even do it on the more sought after stuff.

You have some breweries listed that you would have no problem getting most Casey that you'd be interested in trying. If you're looking for a RTP you can easily find one. Just don't try to win trades and you'll find plenty of people who would love to get beers regularly from those breweries.

Any one want to help me out with some Casey-specific cellaring questions?

Basically, I got my bottles this evening, and opened a bottle of "The Mix: Advanced Peach Cut". It was dominated by the peaches, just as Troy had mentioned, but the absence of the Oak Theory base still surprised me.

So, if I wanted my bottles to have a pronounced funk, should I wait a few months before opening or was the recent blend of The Mix just unusually fruit forward? Also, since my previous experiences with Casey was most drinking Family Preserve beers, do Cuts tend to be less funky?

IMO Casey bottles need a good six months to funk up. It does vary bottle to bottle, but I don’t open too many before that six month mark.

Good to know. Is there a point when you think Casey beers start to go downhill or do they basically plateau after some time?

I've had some that have tasted better each time I've had it. But there are others that have definitely plateau'd like balaton Cut. Stuff like Saison b1 which was his first beer has gotten better every bottle I've drank.

You'll see the fruit mellow out and the funk come out the longer it sits. But there are some that still have great fruit like Apricot FS is still a favorite.

Is Casey still making the Brett Loves ____ series? I’m having a hard time figuring that out by looking online. I loved those beers.

I don't remember one being offered to members at all in 2017. I know the early part of 2016 there were a few different Brett Loves. I checked mine and I have a Brett Loves Simcoe from 8/8/16 and a Citra from 2/12/16.
