Just brewed this today. Got a bit low on the original gravity 1.048. Was dissapointed but the gravity sample was tasty. Looking forward to kegging it this week. Going to.skip the dry hop and see the results.

I know its just going to add hop aroma. Just wanting to slowly introduce my friends to hop in beer slowly. Thoughts?
Well, I personally would not give up the dry hop as i feel it adds a lot. I see what you are trying to do, but the aroma of the hops may hide some of the bitterness and add to the overall flavor. But since I like the smell, flavor and bitterness of hops, I may be biased.
I was thinking about kegging after fermentation and then taste see if dry hop would give me what i am looking for.
Very pleased on hoe this turned out. I think I may add a wee bit morr hops at the begining and do the dry hop. But other then that a very solid beer! Very much apprrciate the recipe. I was skeptical at first but i will have this on rotation on my tsps forsure!!

Glad you enjoyed it.
Brewing this as I type. This will be my second time and this time I'm using lhbs bought dried sweet orange peel. I actually think this will be better than when I did it with fresh zested orange peel.
Crushed the coriander a lil finer too.
Can't wait!!!
I brewed this last weekend almost exact to the original recipe, except my LHBS was out of sweet orange peel so I used 1 oz. bitter orange and 1 oz. tangerine peel. OG 1.061. What do you think?
Awesome! How did it turn out?
I have added an extra ounce and it gave it much more flavor, more to my liking.
What about boiling it longer? I think the recipe calls for a 10 or 15 minute boil, if we put it in at say 30 minutes, will it extract more? I remember a northern brewer Belgian wit that had me add it at 60 and it was very flavorful. The ahs Belgian wit has it at 15 minutes and has much less Orange flavor. Just a thought.
I wouldn't know what to sub for MO, but do they offer a lower price on 10+ pounds? I think you will lose some malfunctioning flavor and biscuit flavor without it.
Okay im too lazy to read 18 pages or search for the answer on this one.
The tasting notes on page one say a light orange flavor. How much more dried orange peel would I want to add for a slightly more pronounced note?
Considering my lhbs wants 1.99 an ounce for the dried orange peel I need to watch it.
Also maris otter is about $.80 a pound more so is regular pale two row acceptable.
I thought also about adding perhaps some honey malt or something else.
Someone give me some advice?
started to mill grain to brew this recipe this evening and realized i somehow only have 1/2lb of crystal 10. I have everything else. I also have 2lbs of crystal 60. Any recommendations on using some of that 60?
Not sure exactly, but .25 Vienna and maybe .25 of the 60? Won't be nearly the same, but I do like more Vienna in my ipas and apa.
i have the 1lb of vienna. only thing im short is a 1/2lb of the 10.
Yes, so up the Vienna .25 and add .25 of the 60 so you do not get too much additional sweetness and color of a full 1/2 lb of 60
