Carboy lid for a 5 gallon jug help

So I'm just getting started on brewing and I bottled my first batch today. One of the problems I encountered was that my carboy wasn't air tight. I am using a 5 gallon water cooler jug similar to this http://www.amazon.com/Commercial-Water-Cooler-5-Gal/dp/B00002ND6V/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342136393&sr=8-1&keywords=5+gallon+water+cooler I was wondering if anyone has ever used that as a carboy and if so how did you create an air tight seal around the edge?

You likely don't want to ferment in an insulated cooler like that...the heat from fermentation would likely raise ferm temps to an unnacceptable level.

The seal is the least of your worries...I would not try it...JMO cheers.

The seal on your carboy is not that big a deal...saran wrap or foil is fine IMO during fermentation...if you are going to leave it to age for weeks or months maybe...but for fermenting no worries.

Link still showing 5 gallon bev cooler, you definitely do not want to ferment in that.

I agree the seal is not a huge problem except for long conditioning.
