One thing I didn't give much thought to on the Wee Heavy I just made was how to bottle carbonate it. All my previous batches have been lower ABV, around 4.5-6% and could use the old 3/4 cup sugar standby. This beer shold top out at 8-9% ABV and I wanted to know how I should go about carbonating it?

Thanks for the help!

Prime and bottle as usual. It will probably take longer for the bigger beer to carbonate, but a Scotch ale should age a while anyway. Maybe back off a little on the priming sugar for your Wee; instead of 2.5 volumes for a typical American style, "English and Scottish Strong Ale" calls for 1.5-2.3.

I was going to force carbonate with my keg but bottling it and letting it age without taking up a keg would be better for me...so i am going to use the bottle method...thanks 944
