I was just wondering if you could paint plastic soda bottles with krylon fusion without affecting your brew. My thoughts are to use the carbonation cap and take a 2 liter instead of a growler for some brew that won't be opened for over a week. The idea to paint is to block light from ruining the good stuff.

I don't know if you can paint the plastic reliably, but can't you just put the bottle in a paper bag or something instead?

I feel like the paint would chip when the bottle flexed.

As above, I would just put it in a paper bag or wrap the bottle in foil.

I would spray one, give plenty of time for the solvents to gas and then put some water in it. Taste the water after a few days to see if it picked up any of the solvents.

A bag really sounds much easier. I'll always fill a 2 liter or two when I bottle and don't do anything special to them.
