I made some pinot noir from an inexpensive kit. On day 20 and the wine is drinkable, but weak, almost watery.

I have 6 gallons of this, and if it would make it better, another $20-$30 would be worth it if adding a few bottles of good pinot might 'help' this wine.

So, after I stabilize my kit wine, can I add bottles of good Pinot to it to make it a little better? Any problem?:D

I wouldn't. Not until the wine is done and ready. Just a thought but would you judge a cake by the batter?

Just a thought and something to think about. AFTER it's all said and done and your ready to bottle after a few months after the transfers and after the wine is developed and you still don't like it..YES absolutely you can add another finished wine to it. I mean you can now but I think you would be doing it too soon..Just my .02

Good luck!

Cheers
Jay

I wouldn't add 2 bottles of $15 wine to 6 gallons and expect any difference.
I'd use $15 gallon wine and do some taste trials to see how much store bought wine it takes to make the kit wine acceptable.
20 days is a pretty short turn around time for wine. I age my reds for at least a year or two before drinking.

If it's weak, it's not going to get any stronger. I'd consider some other alternative. Maybe you could blend it with fruit juices, and make a lower ABV sangria, and bottle that? I've had some weak wine before, and all I was able to do was sweeten it up or add additional flavor.
I make half the sangria suggestion, the other half into a still "cider" that was watered down to 8%ABV. Neither all that great.

Good luck :-/

How about adding some grape juice concentrate? Couldn't hurt at this point, right?
