Can Yeast Energizer & Nutrient Damage Tripel

Hi,

I just brewed a clone of Allagash Tripel. At 26 hrs the fermentation was quite mild. Made a starter Wyeast 3787 Trappist, but thought maybe it was too small. So, hastily, I added enough yeast energizer and yeast nutrient - enough for a 3 gallon and 2 gallon batch, although this is a 5 gal batch. I've had explosive before, but this one is impressive. Within an hour it was bubbling steady and at 1.5 hours blew the top off a 7 gal plastic carboy. (Now hooked up to blow off tube).

My question, could those supplements damage the brew? I've considered cooling it down a bit. Thanks for any feed back

12.8# pilsner malt
1.6 # sucrose
2 oz Tettnang 0.4 oz Hallertau
90 min mash at 153 degrees.
Wyeast High Grav Trappist Ale 3787
Pitched at 70 (yes, my partner jumped the gun), but I got it down to 68 before active fermentation.

Nah, you're just fine. Just let the yeast do their thing and give it some time. Triples need at least 6 months before they really start to hit their sweet spot so kick back and start thinking of something else to brew.
 
The only other suggestion I would offer next time is to make sure you mash lower (around 147-149) to really dry the beer out. Triples are known for disguising the alcohol while being super dry.
 
Thanks Buckswope. It's always worth asking for what you might not know. And if it turns out there not something you don't know - all is well. Either way, all is well.
