Can someone recommend me a hydrometer?

I bought a thermohydrometer from midwest and simple placed it in the wine thief and guess what happened

These things are serious junk. I am looking at amazon for a replacement but I want to make sure it will work for this. Any other types that are not made of cheap thin glass?

Isn't it only accurate though on OG? Doesn't alcohol skew the results?

I got mine for $17 from Hong Kong with $7 for shipping. Only took about 2 weeks to get it to North Dakota...totally worth it and works awesome.

all hydrometers are made of thin glass. they are fairly fragile pieces of equipment, and it doesn't matter who you buy them from.

Ethanol does skew the reading, but there is a spreadsheet available from Morebeer to correct the reading with the presence of ethanol.
