Long time lurker, first time poster. This forum has been an awesome resource for me.

Anyway...is there any reason I couldn't use this tubing from home despot for a line from keg to tap? 3/16" ID...FDA approved for food and beverages...thoughts?

Doesn't say anything about pressure rating, but my guess is it'd be fine. That said, I think premium beverage line is worth the extra you'd spend. I'd go with Bev-flex line.

When it comes to future degradation, ease of cleaning, etc, there's a lot of uncharted territory you'd be volunteering for to save a few bucks, and in the end, if you have to replace it twice as often, you won't save much anyway...

Just my .02..but my guess is: yes, it'd probably work for your purposes.

You could certainly try it, but beer lines I've read are super smooth on the inside, preventing foam issues. This stuff may or may not work.

Tubing designed for beer is fairly cheap, and is sure to work. You can find it online if you don't have an lhbs nearby.

It says it's good to 55 psi. Chances are this is very similar to standard vinyl beer tubing you'd get at a homebrew shop. I do agree that the barrier tubing is worth the upgrade however.
