Nope. Maltodextrine is an unfermentable carbohydrate. Adding it to beer boosts the mouthfeel of the beer because the yeast cannot ferment it.
 
Just through some table sugar into the boil. I throw it in near the end (T-10 minutes). The sugar boosts your ABV and doesn't affect the flavor of the beer. There are myths of a cidery flavor contributed by sugar but I've never experienced that. Just make sure you mind your fermentation temps.
