Hi, I am making a Ranger IPA clone with recipe and ingreds from Austin Homebrew and Maltose Express.

I was at day six of my second fermentation and checked the SG yesterday--it was at the target of 1.010, but it was cloudy so I decided to take it out of the 76 to 78-degree fermentation room and bring it to where I was planning to bottle it (where the temps are in the 60's).

I added the KC yesterday afternoon and not only is it just as cloudy today as yesterday, it is still quite actively fermenting.

My question is should I return to the warm room and let it ferment further? If so, if it remains cloudy, can I do the KC again?

Thanks--any help is greatly appreciated.

no, you shouldn't. in fact, unless you're using belgian strains or other strains that benefit from those temps, you never should've had it that warm in the first place. mid to high 60's is much more appropriate for most ales.

I should removed the wort from the warm area and put it in a cooler area (mid 60's). It is still fermenting and, as I mentioned, it had reached the target Specific Gravity of 1.010 last weekend. Presumably, the SG has fallen further as it continues to ferment.

So, if I put it in the cool area, what do I do next?
