As I getting things together, to set up for electric. I got my element in the kettle, then I stuck my bag in. I am wondering if I can heat up my mash, turn the element off, and place my bag in without burning my bag on the element? I have this element https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/element5500_ripple_tc.htm.

I know I will need a false bottom to run the element while mashing.

Thanks in advanced.

Some ULWD elements can run with heat while mashing and no false bottom needed. When I found that the Blichmann boil coil could do that I switched to one last October and run the heat during the mash with no issues.
