I've never had any problems w/my carboy handle (the orange handle that goes around the neck). But when i was talking to the guy at my LHBS, he said that people usually use a carboy carrier (the apparatus that straps around the carboy and has handles). He said that the carboy can actually break if you use the handle with too much weight in the carboy. I never knew this. Why would i even want a handle if I can't use it with a carboy full of brew? I can carry an empty carboy no problem, so to have a handle just to carry an empty carboy seems a bit ridiculous.
Has anyone ever broken a carboy at the neck b/c of a carboy handle?
What do you use? A carboy handle or a carrier or nothing?
