I'm thinking of doing an old rasputin clone for my second brewday. I had a lot of luck oaking my switchback clone and decided most of my brews will be oaked in some way.

So, I'm sure it's been done before, but has anyone on here made an Old Raspy clone and then oaked her in any way?

I'm thinking of soaking the chips in a port or maybe even a merlot (ala kate the great and some other wine soaked oaked stouts). I was debating bourbon but old raspy xii was way too much in my opinion. If I go bourbon it'll be oh so subtle.

I think a tawny port note would be nice in an oaked rasputin. Bourbon I'm not so sure of, as it tends to dominate the flavor if you're not careful.
