I like the concept but I simply can't stomach most of the material they are covering. If they were were covering metal songs to begin with I'd be all in.

I like the concept but I simply can't stomach most of the material they are covering. If they were were covering metal songs to begin with I'd be all in.
I can understand that. I don't know half the songs they cover so it's almost like they aren't a cover band! Works for me.
That said, I usually love what they do to the ones I do know... What they did to "I should be so lucky" is hilarious and creepy, all at the same time.

There are some good records listed there for sure but hardly any serious contenders for album of the year imo. It's good to see npr coming around to the true metal scene though (edit: aside from that grindcore nonsense), kudos to them for being open minded enough to go there.

Their guitarist C. Corax stabbed somebody in the middle of the 2000's, went to jail for attempted murder, turned his life to God and left the metal scene.
Yep, I read about that.... Varg Vikernes was much more metal about it... he stabbed that dude from Mayhem in the head, burned down some churches cuz they were built on traditional Pagan sites and I think he's still yet to find "god".
