I used Lalvin 71B-1122 packets for my 1st 3 batches of mead. Is there someplace that I can buy a bag cheaper, as in volume, or do I stay with the packets?
I also was thinking of trying a batch out of some 100% Great Value Cranberry fruit juice. It is unsweetened. Any thoughts or advice? I wan a sweet taste.

The problem - IMO - about buying large commercial sized packs of yeast is that if you are making home wine maker sized batches then every time you open the pack you are introducing moisture from the air, bacteria and other microbes. If spoilage of your bag of yeast is not a consideration then sure, why not buy commercial sized packs - much less expensive than buying the same number of cells packed in hundreds of packs, but if you are concerned about contaminating and spoiling the yeast then cost per billion cells may not be the bigger problem...
