Buying supplies on line

Where do you get your grains, hops, etc. Can you get fresh ingredients on line? The reason I ask is it seems hard to get ALL the grains I need at my LHBS with out substituting this for that. I want to stick to the recipie as close as possible but the time I get home from the store I'm wondering what I've really got .

I use m local HBS only for emergencies. Their selection is poor, prices high, and not much help.

I buy the things I need from HighGravityBrew.com. I have received my orders in two days, their prices are good and the one time there was a problem they took care of it right away.

I've had pretty good luck with www.leisure-time.com especially for kits. Not the fastest, averages about one week, but cheapest prices for kits, period. They do sell all the individual ingredients, but I've never ordered those items before. Eventually I will when I get more confident with brewing in general.

You have one of the best online vendors for beer supplies right next door to you in MN. Northern Brewer has some of the best prices out there and their customer service is second to none. They have some great kits available, and they will let you make any substitutions that you want. For example, if you see a kit that you like but would like to use different hops or perhaps a different yeast strain than what was listed in the kit, they will do that for you.
