I just racked off my Youngers Special Bitter clone, and noticed something in remaining trub. A bumble bee. Surely this has happened to someone before. Cant think that this will hurt my brew, but would like to know if anyone has had this happen. My fermentation started off very well, but slowed very rapidly. A little odd but not too odd for me,and my experience

Damn your right I should of taken a pic. I guess I can look at it this way. My beer was so good a bee took his own life to have some

I've seen a bee get poured out of a bomber. Happened at a homebrew club meeting... we all had a good laugh. Well, all of us except the bottler. :cross:

This thread isn't creating the buzz I thought it would.

Meh. Stuff gets into boils all the time, especially if you brew outside. Sooner or later someone will post on here about a bird falling into their boil.

I found a beetle in the hops of a recent pale ale I made after I strained them from the wort, thus was born "Spotted Beetle Pale Ale"

The bees love it when I make mead outside (especially when I do my hopped mead that I have to boil...never seen more bees come around in my life!) I've fortunately never gotten one in the brew before, but I think if I did it'd be fine...
