Bugs in Hops

Hey all, my first post here. I started growing hops and they weren't coming up do I dug down to see what's going on. I found little white bugs had burrowed into the rhizomes. Here's a picture. Anyone know what they are?

I had the same exact problem! I had a healthy, beautiful plant and it just died over night! I dug it up, and found the same thing! I was thinking they were termites, but I was told it was unlikely. I'm still not sure I believe that advice, though. The bugs on mine looked very similar to yours, but I think yours are larger.

Out of curiosity, who did you buy your rhizomes from? You can PM me if you don't want to share that info publicly...

Sure looks like termites. Especially that big headed one looking to the right.

We had termites in a house once. It was real horror show. Do not bring those evil bastards in the house. They will literally eat you out of house and home and them come flying out the walls one night while you're taking a crap.

I got them from AHS. Not sure who they got them from though. I planted them way away from the house so that's good. I have some that are sprouting so I need to figure out how to protect them.

Ahhh haaa! I got mine from AHS too! I wonder if the critters came with the rhizomes?! I also wonder if anyone else has had this problem...
