Switching from canning Budweiser to canning water.....OK, ABInBev has provided lots of canned water, they deserve some thanks....THANKS BUDWEISER
But I'm still not going to try Bud Light Clam-A-Rita.....
 
I complained to my wife about this. To me it seems as though they are marketing the beer by showing how wonderful they are for the community. At first this seems great, but it says NOTHING about the product, and of course they are much more capable of helping due to the simple fact that their factory is designed to can liquids. Most craft breweries are not in position to do these this due to their size.

It's not about whether someone else would choose to do this, it's about simply being able to or not.

I don't have anything against their helping out, but I wish they could have come up with a real commercial instead. The Bud Knight ad was better.
 
Marketing is, and always has been, about image. It's not objective at all. Marketers try to tie their product to particular values, and the consumers, having been helped to make that connection, then perceives themselves as realizing those values when they consume the product.

It plays on and invokes emotions. Remember people crying over the Folger's Coffee commercials - "The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup!"... Next time you see Folgers or Budweiser in the store control your emotions.

When my wife goes shopping, she buys Sht. Me, I buy the gourmet expensive stuff because when I drink it, I want to taste it. But you know what's on my mind right now? It ain't the Folgers in my cup, it's the Watered Down BMC on the TV.

Someone said this to me at work. Am I supposed to reply?
Just nonsense? Does it mean anything?
It just sounds asinine when people repeat things they've heard in commercials.

Edit, OK, I had to look it up, it appears others have been asking the same thing, here's an answer:

chief marketing officer for AB InBev, Miguel Patricio, told Business Insider, "'Dilly Dilly' doesn't mean anything."
