So, I have read somewhere that storing a fermenter with a dilution of bleach and water after fermentation was complete was a good way to go. I thought this sounded crazy and was wondering what everyone else does for their plastic buckets.

I soak it with Oxy for a couple hours, rinse it out and then store it in the basement with various brewing tools and things inside.

Rinse, including disassemble spigot for cleaning, let dry and then store upside down resting on lid.

I wouldn't leave bleach in a plastic bucket. Plastic absorbs odors.

I mix up a few gallons of PBW and let it, along with everything else that needs to be cleaned soak in it for about a half hour. I then dip a soft cloth in the PBW and gently wipe the sides of the bucket above the water line. After that, I rinse everything out well and allow to dry before storing.
