Spent 2 HOURS trying to do it, and searching the net for answers. Does it even work? Right now I am going to buy ProMash unless someone can help me figure this out today.

Isnt it as easy as right clicking in the empty field and choosing cly sparge then enter your variables in the fields of the calculator?

That is what I just did anyway.

edit: click "display" choose "schedule" then right click in empty field and look down list until you see "New Fly Sparge" and choose that.

Yes, you have to build the schedule from mash-in through fly-sparge.

Okay I did that... I am not stupid fellas... I can make any other software work, but this is redicuous... 3 hours in already JUST trying to get a fly sparge out of this thing.

When I get up the Fly Sparge Editor though it will NOT let me input ANY values, they always default back to 0.0. Then when I try to LOCK the collected field it gives me an error. It gives me a -7.71 gal in the "available" field and shows 7.71 in the "collected" field, even though on the FIRST page of the program it shows "kettle volume @ 212F" as 8.02 gal.

Like I said, it wont let me input ANYTHING in the Fly Sparge Editor, it defaults back to 0.0 and gives me an error.

Seriously no software should take more then 2 hours to desypher, and when I cannot even google an answer to this question, it borders on rediculous.

Easy there boy...WWhhhoaaaaaaaa.

No, as im sure you deduced since I am trying to figure out in another thread what to buy I am just clicking around trying to figure it all out. I did not realize until reading a third thread it kept resetting your values. that is frustrating.

And for what its worth, it took me 20 min just to figure out how to even begin to put together a mash schedule:drunk: maybe im the stupid one here.

The collected volume will always be smaller than the kettle volume @ 212°, due to expansion of the wort at boiling temperature.

The sparge editor is dependent on your kettle and batch size. I have my volumes locked- 8 gallons @ 212° and 5.5 gallons at 68°. Enter boil duration and evaporation loss. Also lock efficiency.

Doing this, I was able to create a fly-sparge without issue.

Batch size : 5.4 gallons
Kettle Volume : 15 gallons
Kettle Volume at 212F LOCKED at 8.0 gallons
LOCKED at 5.4 gallons at 68F

Boil duration: 90 min
Evaporation loss: 1.6 gal/hour

Still, the Fly Sparge Editor zeroes out anything that I enter. And the Available field STILL equals -.98 gal and gives me an error saying "enter value greater than "0". Well, I would, but YOU KEEP RESETTING WHAT I ENTER!!!
