It'd be like if you had a friend that just bought a car with black leather seats and he knew that black and leather gets hot and lives in an area where it's a hot all the time. Despite that knowledge your friend buys the car anyway and constantly complains about burning his ass on the seats. Wouldn't you be like, "yeah, well, probably shouldn't have bought a car with black leather seats?"

****, sorry I offended you bro. It's not like this thread doesn't have plenty of other people who have posted their frustrations. Yes I wasted 700 bucks but there are far more painful ways to learn lessons about things in life that actually matter.

You may have a point, maybe I post too much negativity. But to flip your analogy on it's head. It's like the awesome friend you met like 4 years ago and spent lots of time with because they liked all the same things you liked and then a couple bumps in the road happened with your relationship and now they're like a totally different person. To be fair we're both different people now and that's what makes it that much more difficult. I wouldn't bitch about this friend if I wasn't still attached. This analogy is obviously super hyberbole but just making the point.

To be totally clear, I'm not actually mad lol. This is beer and it doesn't matter. I'll unwatch this thread and go my separate way. Looking forward to that 12 box of de Garde arriving in a few days. Hope that trade is acceptable.

I think this is put really well and I fully understand how you feel sometimes

Made it to the taproom for first tlme yesterday. Awesome experience, crowded but never waited longer than a few min. Blueberry Smoking Wood was the highlight for me.

Also stopped by yesterday, really happy with recent/current allocations on draft. Filmishmish had a huge apricot character once it warmed for 10 - 15 minutes, if it tastes like that in bottles without the sediment issues from last year, it's going to be a real winner. SitR w/ Peaches didn't have quite as much fruit as I was hoping for but was still damn tasty. Cuivre might be the best Anniversary iteration as far as how well integrated it is fresh. Melange #10 was the real winner for me, though. I understand how people who were hoping for a Huna-killer were disappointed, but the chile character is well balanced, hints of coconut, good blend of base beers...I think it's damn good and I'm glad I maxed it out.

I'm really happy with how 2015 is shaping up so far, and while I'm a bit concerned with how backloaded the year could get, it seems like they're really getting back on track.

I am a little disappointed with SITR w/peaches having the peach described as "subtle."

They are bottling this latest batch of Filmishmish, right? I'm hoping that it's less "subtle" with the apricots.

I'm pretty sure that was 2011, it predated the HS. IIRC, the merch went as follows:

2010 - Hoodie (best hoodie they ever made, Batch 1 is always best)
2011 - Good growler bag and stupid "Beer served rare" t-shirt
2012 - Hoodie
2013 - Hoodie
2014 - ****** growler bag and tasting glass

I have no idea what makes the 2014 growler bag ******. It keeps beer cold (or gets it there), it's lightweight, and I can hold one growler per side or four 750s per side. Not too shabby.

The 2011 one is considerably more insulated, leakproof, and had far sturdier materials. I liked the 2014 one in concept but there's very little insulation, I've heard varying reports of leaking, and it just doesn't feel as sturdy. "******" might be a bit harsh but I would've rather had them allocate a bit more of the membership fee to it and do it with the same insulation and quality as the 2011 bag. I've used the 2011 bag at least once/week since I got it, whereas I only use the 2014 bag if I don't have any cardboard 6 bottle carriers handy (I rarely have two 2L growlers at once so that function isn't useful for me).

Which part is leaking, the ice pouch in the middle? Definitely never had that happen. If it's about beer leaking out of it, there are bigger problems than the bag.
