Brown Flip top bottle help please....

I recently acquired about 3-4 cases of brown flip top bottles from a friend as a trade for helping him with his first AG batch.

He tried using them a couple of times and did not like them because they did not hold carbonation
(no one ever told him that you can replace the gaskets, I in fact did not tell him until after they were loaded in my car)

Where can I get replacements?
Would they be available at any local hardware store?

How often would I have to replace them?

I've seen them at online stores like brewmasterswarehouse. I've never changed mine but don't use them often except for as growlers for kegged beer. I've had them at least a year and a half though

you can get replacement gaskets at a LHBS, or IHBS like midwest or northernbrewer

I got a bunch from eBay, but they are rubber. I haven't needed to use them yet, but I understand that neoprene is better and doesn't add any off flavors.

I've seen them on websites and at homebrew shops. They're pretty common actually.
