My brother recently retired from the navy after 20 years and me and sister are buying him alittle booze as a gift. I went to the liquor store and got a fifth of Knob Creek Rye (loves Knob Creek but has never had the rye) and Westmalle Trappist. Andy one had that Trappist before?

I have not but please thank your brother for his service

Blantons is nice bourbon also but he may hate you if he develops a taste for it ( around $50 a bottle )

It's fine if you like Belgian flavored beers, with lots of funk, residual sweetness and aromas of cloves, anise, banana and other phelonics.

If it were my brother's retirement, and he likes hard liquor AND beer, i'd get him a Utopias.
