UGH!! I snapped the bolt on my BG14 Banjo burner by over tightening. This ever happen to anyone else? Was thinking to drill it out and tap a new thread,,anyone have any other ideas?

Best you could do is exactly as you say, drill it out and replace. Did you strip the threads?

it was in so tight that I had to drill out threads included (did not go too far to penetrate to the propane chamber) going to see if this will work ,,,was thinking about possibly welding a nut to the opening and using that to thread a new bolt but will the solder hold up under the constant heat when the burner is firing???

You could install a heli-coil and then use the same size screw if a bigger one would be a problem.

A Heli-Coil is another good idea....the Tapp worked and the burner is fixed!

Cheers!
