Brewing hard liquor?

Not sure why there isn't a forum on this as there are forums for things like cheese making and so on.

Has anyone ever tried making their own rum or vodka? I've also seen people make hard liquor out of just table sugar.

How easy is it? How does it turn out? Is it safe?

Hi Noz. HBT's administrator, on advice from his attorney, does not allow any discussion of distilling. Sometimes people want to talk about whether HBT should or shouldn't allow that discussion, and we don't allow that debate either, because it really is the administrators call and he's the one who runs the legal risk. So, that's why there isn't on a forum on this and why we don't allow any discussion on it.
