Hi,

I am new to to HBT.
Because i live in a country that has no access to homebrewing ingredients, i have a few question that may need your expertise and experience.

I can only get maltose [rice malt syrup] here. So i guess i'll have to use this as the main base ingredient.
I have no access to hops. Is there any substitution that i can use? Or just any herb that is bitter would do?
And about head retention, as I do not have access to crystal malt I have no means of retaining the head. Also i have no way of getting malted rice, wheat or barley... any ideas?

Welcome! Don't know if "beer" is in your near future, but I certainly respect the drive to find alternatives! Have you ever made sake? I can certainly sympathize wanting to make beer regardless of the obstacles (and maybe you can), but there is an endless list of alcoholic beverages that you may be able to make with ingredients you have available.
