Any real difference?

Cant find McCormick this time of the year.

I've used McCormick once and it was good. Never used Brewers Best

Making a Blue Moon clone. Doesnt have to be exact as long as it taste good using Brewers Best

If it works is the amount equal to McCormick 0z to oz

The dried orange peels only add pithy bitterness, not orange flavor the way extract does. Skip the dried peels, or if you must, use half as much as they recommend. Dried orange peel and orange extract are NOT equivalent in any way shape form.

Well that answers it.

Are you saying making a blue moon clone/wit with only coriander is a good way to go? I have plenty of coriander. Every recipe I have ever seen calls for both.

Although fresh crushed coriander smells awesome and is what I want the beer to taste like.

What amount of coriander would you recommend if using just coriander?

Most recipes reviews say dont overdo the coriander which contradicts what your saying a bit

I know this is a useless post but my oldest is a QA inspector for McCormick and drags his condensed ingredient samples home to stack on the countertop ... and I'll be damned, I can't use any of them except his maple concentrate.
 
I haven't used McCormick, but I have used Brewers Garden sweet orange peel in my Blue Moon clone. In my third iteration I used 2oz in a 2.5G batch along with .33oz of crushed corriander. I had used lesser amounts in prior batches but this combo was the best I thought. I don't taste any pithy bitterness from the orange peel, and can definitely taste the corriander. Just my experience, but this combo worked great for my taste buds.
 
Zest several oranges/tangerines and then boil in 2 cups of water. Let sit until cooled and put the “tea” in when you keg/bottle.
 
Zest from real oranges is always an option...... That being said, I just tried fresh zest from a full orange in a recent batch again, and, while the beer smells wonderful during fermentation..... it doesn't show up in the finished beer at all. So I won't use any orange peel or zest anymore.

Coriander is the only essential ingredient in a witbier IMO. I recommend exactly 0.75 oz in 5 gallons... no more, no less. Or actually, could go a little lower, but I really like it at that amount. Freshly crushed of course, not the pre-powdered stuff. I've medaled with that amount.

You missed the part about making a “tea” using the zest and adding when you package.
 
Another option is to make a tincture with orange peel and vodka.
Note that pro brewers can't do this, so this is an advantage home brewers have.
At packaging, strain out the peel and perform a blending trial to determine how much you need to add.
I've also done it with a full strength mead and the mouthfeel is better, but it takes longer to make a mead compared to going to the store and getting some vodka.
