I just received my free trial issue of BYO and it seems to be pretty good stuff. I was just wondering if it's typically pretty good and worth subscribing? It seems like a good number of the articles are available online for free? Thanks!

I was gifted a subscription & like all the great info & recipes in it. It even has two recipe cards in it per month. I thought that was pretty cool!

Thanks! Yeah I saw the 2 recipe cards and I'm thinking of trying one. Also a couple of the other recipes looked intriguing. I think I'll give a subscription a shot.

I don't have a sub, but I buy it whenever I'm about to fly (the only time I take the time to read magazines). I really enjoy it

BYO is great but if your looking for bang for you buck you can't go wrong with a AHA membership which comes with not only the monthly paper magazine but digital access to the last 14 years of back issues to. You may also get a discount for being a member at your LHBS and other places. Personally I opt for both.

I'm thinking about it. I'm tien between BYO and an AHA membership for Zymurgy add mentioned above.
I will say this though, I always end up at the BYO website reading available articles when researching something, and I end up in a black hole thanks to style profile.

Got an AHA membership and BYO subscription as I travel a lot and like to have the magazine handy and don't always have wifi/internet. Both are awesome and due to the content consider both of them good investments.

AHA membership also opens the door for competitions and such. Off topic some, but another plus if you do the competition thing.

No kidding, I did the free trial and just paid for a subscription yesterday. I've read many back issues and think it's worth it.

BYO is a great magazine...even though I have been brewing for 15 years, I still find articles and recipes that are worth the small subscription price alone. I also value my AHA membership for both Zymurgy and the things that the AHA can accomplish with the power of many homebrewers!

I've been thinking of joining the AHA myself. Zymurgy & all the other things they have done & try to do sounds great. But BYO is definitely worth it as well.

Our home-brew club president (he uses the term Primary Fermenter) is Marc Martin who writes the Beer Replicator column in BYO. It's nice to have friends in high places. I wouldn't miss a BYO edition.

Simply put I love byo, jamils style profiles are awesome, they aren't afraid to redo/update topics they have previously covered, it's just amazing.

Too many good things to tell. Issues that I originally found uninteresting/not helpful always get pulled out again later

I have had a sub for at least five years, just re subbed. Only thing I wish they did was go back to the multi year subscriptions. I just ended a 3 year sub, and the only option now was one year. I would have taken the three year no questions.

Just be prepared to start receiving subscription renewal letters in the mail almost immediately after getting your first issue. Expect them two or three times a month for the remainder of your subscription.

I subscribed 6-7 months ago and have only received 1 renewal letter. I have found the magazines to be quite good and I'll probably stay subscribed for as long as I'm a homebrewer.
