I'm putting my drawings together for a 2 or 3 tier stand and the following questions popped up.
1. What are your pros and cons from a 2 to 3 tier stand?
- obvious answers:
You don't need a 38" inseam or a ladder to access the HLT
You need a pump for ANY Horizontal application.
2. Any pros or cons for the different type stands?
So far this is my design...shelves will have supports.
I might build the frame/stand with wood and use strut for the shelves and shallow strut to help secure piping/valves/conduit.
Futher info: HLT has a 1/2" ball valve, it will be split to a 1/2" line to the MLT for Strike water and an 1/8" line for fly sparging. Both have solenoids.
MLT will have the same going to the boil kettle. 1/2" for draining, 1/8" (may go to 1/4" depending on flow rates) for lautering. Solenoids again.
