Hi everybody,

I would like to congratulate the folks involved with creating such a great community that enables rookies like me to get through the ropes. Also thanks to all the people who take the time and help others.

Right now I'm trying to set up to brew my first batch of beer. I have a 25 litre fermenter with two spigots and a screw on lid I drilled a 1 1/4 in hole with a whole saw. My big question is now can I get away with a 6 gallon batch if I rig up a blow off tube at the end of my bung hole.

I also dreamed up a mini fermenter, a 3 l wine bottles that fits a 1 1/4 inch bung. Looking to experiment with different ciders in them. Any suggestions? I am interested in good 5 gallon recipes. I have a apple juice with concentrate juice recipe available for the takers.

Also part of my set up is 2 6 gallon better bottles, 1 gallon carboy, 6 gallon pail fermenters that I make myself.

Hope to talk to you soon, Jon
