What are some of the kits that people like? I did a shiner bock kit and ready for my second batch for the pipeline. I have a lot to choose from Homebrew Headquarters
and don't know where to begin. What "additions" do you like to use?

I would look into Austin Homebrew Supply. All their kits are great and come in different levels (extract, PM, and AG). They have tons of clones too which are all great. Plus you are already in Tx so shipping should be cheap

Hello Neighbor... I go to HBHQ once a week to get my ingredients...
I guess you are an extract brewing person. What type of commercial beers do you like?
It'll be easy to recommend based on that. Did you brew the Shiner with LME or DME?

Shipping is flat rate.. and Texans get to pay sales tax too...:(
I have not deal with Austin HB, but I think there kit selections are great. They are having a sale right now. I'm with you.. it is worth checking out.

I used both bock liquid and some DME I gues sthat is right I know it was a can and a bag of DME and of course sugar.

sugar is part of the brew or is it for bottling?
Anyways, as a beginner, I think you have so many options..
Summer is getting close... what about a wheat beer? You can get 6# of wheat LME from HBHQ.. they are selling those in bulk.. just bring a container if you don't want to buy their 1 gallon bucket...
It is just LME... add 1 oz hop (hallertaur) at beginnig of 60 minutes boil.... cool and add the yeast (liquid yeast is recommended, dry yeast tastes too fruity)....

Ask Kelly, he'll give you some good recommendation.
Chris is ok too...

I love wheat beer but I had an issue when Ihad a keg of shiner hefe when Ifirst got my kezzer. I had pressure issues but I have learned more about it since then might be worth a try. Would I need mixed gas or CO2 ok?

It will be kegged. I'm going to HBHQ this evening. Really thinking about the hefe for the next project I have the Apple juice for the edworts AW too... should be a good time this weekend! even better in 3-4 weeks :mug:
