Awesome.

I was planning on making my wine today, but I woke up with a terrible pain in my shoulder that goes all the way through me. Feels like i was shot. Anyway, I'm on vicodine right now and need to see a Dr. So basically, heavy lifting isn't in my future.

MAN, that sucks... sorry to hear about your affliction. I will down a brew in rememberance of those of you who have fallen in the line of duty.

Sparging now... this new system sure gives me ALOT of time to relax and have a homebrew! Honestly, I have had over an hour of free time and only been brewing for 2.5 hours today! My new system ROCKS....

*mumbling something about being stuck at work even though it is 78 degrees and clear blue sky with a light breeze* Must.......Brew........Tomorrow......

I like your system. Looks similar to the one from Northern Brewer. Good idea using the shelf as the frame for the whole set-up. I am looking at getting a similar system when I start AG.

What are you brewing today?

Nothing like being on a prescription pain med before seeing a doctor and getting a prescription:cross:

Got my experimental recipe done, I think it's basically an APA, but a touch strong at 1.060, and used Wyeast Irish Ale yeast w/chinook and cascade. Had fun brewing w/my son, and the house smells great now (till SWMBO gets home and opens all the windows!). Sox are playing Yanks, time to go watch some game and enjoy a HB.

1lb 6 row
3lb pilsner
6lb wheat

.5oz Hallertau
.5 oz Willamette

WLP300

It is boiling now, this system is SO MUCH nicer, no mess in the house, portable and efficient! The thermometers worked great, no guesswork!

Was planning a double brew day, American Wheat (Bell's Oberon Clone) and Scottish Ale.

Scottish Ale starter didn't. American Wheat did, so that's what I brewed.

I pulled off 1.044 PRE BOIL with about 7 gallons of wort... the final runnings were still at 1.031... this is going to be over 81% eff!!!!!

The brew is in the fermentor... the yeast starter was at high krausen when I pitched it... keeping it around 72F until it starts up... I have 2 days off and I cannot wait to see the show on this one! I am setting my alarm for the middle of the night so that I can check on it!

Now that's dedication.

:mug:

I'd like to try a Heffe next. What was the recipe you used. Looks like you got some
real good fermentation going there too! :)

What, you couldn't have dipped the camera down so we could see the brew? You're a beer tease. :(

I agree, I was anticipating the same thing! :(

Brewed a Czech Pilsner but due to the hockey game I heated up the wort to near boil then flamed out and will do boil tomorrow.

Damn warm temp! Now I can't do lager ferments in the garage. :D

A family frined invited me to come with him to Czech in a couple weeks, then I find out due to the huge increase in passprit applications from the US law requiring passports on flight into the states.. I can't get an expidated passport and thus will probably not be able to go. :(

My recipe was this.

1lb 6 row
3lbs pilsner
6 lbs wheat

.5oz hallertau h. at 60 min
.5oz willamette at 15 min

WLP300 starter

OG was 1.053 with 5.5 gallons post boil
See my post on here called HUGH HEFFE pics and video. There you will see video of my huge blow off too! It has been impressive to say the least.

I clicked that link expecting beer pictures, not a bunch of shots of you makin' out with some chick in a wedding dress. Jeez, show some class! ;)

I am sure that there was alcohol involved in those pics too... somehow

First off, someone needs DVR. When football season gets here, I never miss a Skins game. The only catch is, you can't answer the damn phone until you watch it. My dad or my friend are always calling me after the big plays to yell and scream, and I just can't answer. But it's worth it, not having to put my entire life on hold.

So...your garage temps stay constant enough for fermentation? That'd be sweet. I'd be too worried about a crazy fluctuation.

My garage works great, well, since I have that freezer out there LOL
