Stop going to McDonalds man. That stuff is ****. Literally
I wouldn't give McD more than one *
Stop going to McDonalds man. That stuff is ****. Literally
That's exactly why I don't want attention called to the fact that I'm in there a couple times a week.
I do appreciate McDonalds as a monument to Capitalism. Take a food product. Remove any taste, flavor, or texture that could possibly be offensive to anyone. Make it cheap and convenient and fortunes are made.
Big Macs, Budweiser, and Wonder Bread. You've got to give them credit. They know how to appeal to the masses.
I make my own egg-a-muffin sammich every day at work with sausage or bacon or ham, english muffin, egg, and cheese so I know what good 'McMuffin' tastes like and MDs McMuffins are fine. And those hashbrowns (and their fries) are just damn good, I don't care what anyone says. Their biscuits do suck though.
I know people don't want to acknowledge that they actually*gasp*like McDonalds but those two things plus their fries are good (when made to 'spec', which the retarded chimps at my franchise around the corner do with amazing consistency).
If you dislike the McDonalds cashier, then don't ever go to a Jimmy Johns. It must be a company policy that they yell "Hello" and "Bye" to everyone who was in and out of the door. Only if I'm really hard up for lunch do I go there. And after getting my sandwich I try and sneak out so the entire restaurant doesn't have to hear some jack ass yelling over the other customers.
It doesn't cost $1. It's a real english muffin, with a real egg, a sausage patty, and a slice of american cheese. Made fresh. If that's not what you're getting that franchise is doing it wrong.
I did try the new Burger King $1 egg-a-muffin and that was pre-made and totally gross. But the McDonalds sauasage mcmuffin w/ egg and cheese are good when made 'to spec'. Same with the hashbrowns.
Your last sentence illustrates your lack of open-mindedness on this topic (which was my entire reason for posting). That just because something costs a dollar (which these don't anyway) it MUST be bad.
Didn't watch the video (maybe later) but Waffle House (aka the Awful Waffle) actually has good hash browns; scattered, smothered, and covered. And they whip their eggs for omelettes using those old-fashioned shake mixers with the big stainless cup to make them extra light and fluffy (it works). Ham & cheese omelette with scattered/smothered/covered is pretty good.Pretty soon you'll be these guys
Yes of course I would expect to see closed-mindedness when it comes to something like this. McDonalds is a super easy target because it is cheap and so 'for the masses'; that's exactly the kind of thing where I wouldn't expect open-mindedness. Budweiser is another example, a super 'easy' target for homebrewers. Some homebrewers seem to think Bud is just bad all-around and everything about it is bad. But some of what they do is smart and sound even though I don't care for the final product.never thought I would hear "open minded" and "McDonalds" in the same sentence. Do you. I don't think I need to be open minded about mindless food for the masses. I'm all for culinary adventure, but c'mon, don't defend McDonalds.
Yet it's good enough for you to eat it 2-3 times a week. But at the same time you're Mr. High and Mighty too good for McDonalds? How bout you climb down off that horse and have breakfast with the rest of us?I do appreciate McDonalds as a monument to Capitalism. Take a food product. Remove any taste, flavor, or texture that could possibly be offensive to anyone. Make it cheap and convenient and fortunes are made.
I admit I get defensive over McDonalds. My family has been involved with McDonalds since I've been alive on the office side of things and I've worked in several through high school and college. If you want Culinary adventure, why are you eating fast food? seriously, go home and fire up your stove or go to a nice restaurant, but don't expect it for $1 or even a whole meal for $6.I never thought I would hear "open minded" and "McDonalds" in the same sentence. Do you. I don't think I need to be open minded about mindless food for the masses. I'm all for culinary adventure, but c'mon, don't defend McDonalds.
All I know is I'm hungry as all get out because I missed breakfast, McDonald's is a mile down the road, and reading this thread made me think about getting an egg mcmuffin.
+1 chshre. But then again, we all know IP is a little slow
The other day I went into Taco Bell, and the chic behind the counter looked absoltely nothing like the chic in the Taco Bell commercial.![]()

at MY taco bell, she looks as good as the commercial - but maybe 3 years younger (damn jail bait!)...
And if not, then you should have.
It's not abuse as long as it's a man doing it to a woman!
Just as long as they follow the rule of thumb.
