Yes, you did screw up. Your mistake was lack of capitalization, punctuation, and proper grammar.

As for your beer, it should be fine. In the future, you really should be making a starter (assuming you're using liquid yeast) but it's not 100% necessary to make beer. In the end, you'll still have beer, just not necessarily great beer. That doesn't mean that it will be terrible, or even bad, just not as good as it could be.

X2 starters will help make sure you get a good ferment + it makes you look like dr beer walking around with erylnmeyer flasks. Look up homemade stirlplate, to push your starters to new levels.

I am very much pro-starter, but I never do one for a hefe. The main reason to do a starter is to have enough yeast that they don't produce a lot of off flavors when they are building up. When I make a hefe, I want all of those flavors. I'm of the opinion that the banana and clove in a hefe are the whole point and I like to emphasize those flavors. I tend to underpitch and leave the fermentation temperature a little on the high side.

Starters aren't necessary, but they do help. You will also find that this isn't your typical "interwebz" forum. Proper punctuation, grammar and english help us to read your post.

Does this mean I can start correcting people who misspell the material used to make gaskets, high-temperature hoses, etc.? It drives me up the wall when people mention silicon [sic] hoses.

I live in Silicon Valley, which doesn't mean I am surrounded by women with large fake breasteses.

yes generally if peple do not use punctuation or misspell thinds and make crazy runon sententces then it is your perogotizve to either completely ignore them or to tell them to stop being such a bad typer and to make there sentacnes more legible so that we can all in turn answer they're questions more betterer because if they don't the point of the post or the thread can be easily lost because the sentances get sooooo long that you can't remember why you are reading htem or what they were about in the first place because the block of text gets so big and unwieldy that you cant see straight lol.

:D

You will be fine. I don't use starters on my Bavarian hefes. I will suggest keeping the temps low unless you like banana bombs. Wyeast 3068 gets particularly over the top banana bombish when fermented hot.
