I've just recently purchased a braumeister and have done three batches so far. All three of them extremely hazy. It's not chill haze because it's evident at room temperature as well as serving temperature.

I have a Braumeister and have produced some amazingly bright beers. What kinds of beers have you done? If I had to guess I might start to look at your fermentation process. I use conicals and maybe it has a lot to do with it. Nevertheless, a lot can cause the haze, but I have not had the style.

I am brewing a wheat beer this weekend and I'm concerned that I can't get the haze that I want for the style! :) I can assure you it's not the the BM.. it's quite an amazing and well designed device.

good luck, keep me posted.

I've made about 10 brews on my BM 50 so far and have hazy beers as well. I've noticed that the wort gets nice and clear while recirculating, but as soon as you lift the malt pipe the direction is reversed, and no matter how slow or careful I am, the grainbed gets disturbed and I get all sorts of grain stuff in the wort. I don't know if or how much boiling this stuff affects flavor, but I haven't made any great beers yet.

I too ferment in a uni-tank and can clear it up pretty well with a cold crash, but never get really bright beer.

For what its worth, I've always done different recipes of styles ranging the full color spectrum from pale to stout. I'm not sure why but they are always darker than expected and all share a similar not-so-goodness.
